Is a Super Spartan Race for You?

My mind started playing those games again. I thought, "Hey, you're over sixty now. Back off and stay away from some of those fitness events and let the young folks do it." Then I was approached by several people to sign up for the Super Spartan Race in February, 2013 and so I did! Why should I leave such fitness events to the young folks? The Super Spartan Race is 8+ miles with at least 12 obstacles and probably more. I have created a Spartan team called Colonel Bob's Beach Boot Camp with the password IamAlive to join the team. If you have already registered, you can still transfer to the team. We still participate individually even though we are a team so don't worry. I have registered for Feb. 23, 2013, start time 8:30 am. To register for the Super Spartan Race, go to http://www.spartanrace.com/florida-obstacle-racing-super-spartan-miami-2013.html.

The next five week early bird classes will be starting up next week on Tuesday, July 17. Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 am to 6:30 am and are designed for all fitness levels. If interested, email or call me. My regular classes are at the Harbor Beach Marriott.

Special activities are on the horizon. Next Friday, on July 20 at 6:30 pm let's get together for dinner at the Riverside Market. The Riverside Market is casual dining and will give you the feeling of being in a small town if you have never been there. Please RSVP so that we can move tables together to accommodate everyone.  Refer a friend who signs up for one of the 3 or 12 month memberships and you will earn additional membership months. If your friend signs up for a 3 month membership of 2 to 4 times per week, you will receive a one month extension of your present membership. If your friend signs up for a 12 month membership of once a week, receive 1 month extension, 2 to 4 times per week and receive a 3 month extension of your present membership.

EARLY BIRD BOOT CAMP

The cost is $150 for the five week program and is nonrefundable. Single class attendance is $20 per class. We meet Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 AM on the West side of the Las Olas Bridge in Fort Lauderdale and finish at 6:30 AM. There is free public parking along the side streets. Please dress for the weather. If you dress properly for the workout you will not be cold during cold weather training or too hot during hot weather training.
