According to the Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy reported that push-ups can be effective as an exercise for upper body rehabilitation. Push-ups are an excellent way to maintain upper body alignment and posture.
Which muscles do push-ups work?
Standard push-ups primarily work the chest. All the upper body muscles are also working in orchestration to complete a push-up to include abdominals and lower back. Of course that includes the triceps and deltoids known as the primary shoulder muscles.
